Lakes & Trails

The chain, live

Clermont is built around water and elevation — a connected chain of lakes below genuinely rolling hills. This page keeps a live eye on the water and points to the official trail and lake resources.

Why it matters here

Water and hills, together

The Clermont Chain connects a series of lakes threaded between hills that give south Lake County its rare-for-Florida elevation. Boaters move between lakes by canal, the waterfront anchors the city's park system, and the trail network — including the South Lake Trail along the water — is how much of Clermont actually experiences it day to day.

Lake levels here are actively managed and swing with the seasons, which is why the live gauge above is worth a glance before you trailer the boat.
